Sharing
Share links
Since we launched PagePlay there have been many global developments. It's been an interesting few years. One of the more positive of these has been the way social media has become mainstream. When we first launched back in August 2008 some people had Facebook and Twitter accounts, but today most people have at least one of them.
They have become vital tools for digital marketers and content creators as much as they have for consumers and citizens. They have allowed us to interact, find information and assert our views and sense of belonging with the world.
Today we introduce quite a modest new feature - but one which we think will grow and develop over time based on your feedback. When editing a page, you'll now notice a new item you can add called "Sharing".
When you add this to the page, it gives your visitors a way to say they 'Like' this page via Facebook - meaning a link to your page can be submitted to their newsfeed and shared with their friends. They can also 'Share' to Twitter meaning your mentioned in their ongoing timeline - making it easier for your content to become part of those online conversations.
Some customers have added Facebook Like buttons to their pages - but only as tweaks to the actual designs of their sites organised with us. From today all PagePlay users have the power to put these buttons on their own pages wherever they like.
Please try it out and let us know how you get on. We're very keen to hear your ideas about where we take this idea. It feels like we're dipping a toe in the sea: next it's your turn to suggest where we should swim to.
Encouraging your visitors to share your pages. It's as easy as PagePlay.
* We suggest a maximum of two sharing items per page as recommended by Twitter and Facebook
